Set meter to ohms and buzzer

You first want to test each stator coil to earth
so find the 3 yellow stator wires from connector and test between here and
the metal work of stator .

If the buzzer buzzes you have a failed stator

Here are photo of me testing betwen each yellow stator coil wire and earth
of stator ,

all three yellow stator coil wires are 0.l open circuit to earth
so very good , if it buzzes or shows ohm reading you have short to earth
and coils faulty

So you have confirmed the stator coils are insulated from earth now test betten each of the yellow wires so three tests in all .

As up you see my readings are similar to each other 0.5-0.6 was main reading i was getting , they should be very close to each other as all coils are same size and 0.5 is roughly what i usually measure on 125 motorcycle stators and this bike ran well so we can take this as a good reading .

if your readings vary wildly and are over 0.8 and under 0,3 you might need to replace your alternator .
